Suns Of The Tide
BIOGRAPHIE
Suns Of The Tide

Suns of the Tide is a microcosm experiment of the eastern philosophy thought of the splendor of NOW. It is an inspiration to inspiration. This improvisational album is the final product of not two right minds but three not too right minds.

The project puts three musicians with different styles and training into the recording studio without ever practicing a note together. This improvisational project includes Fletcher Stafford, with his pipes and whining axe styling, Cedric Theys, with his melodic bass riffing, and DJ Lion-O, beat-dropper and ambient synth maker extraordinaire. They fuse together compositions without any forethought or preconception of the end result. This album was created from raw emotions, open minds, and listening third ears. The songs are from both ends of the spectrum, from slow sad songs, like All Gone, to dance thumpin' instrumentals, like Dance of the Viking, leaving the listener sailing an ocean, on which the waves are controlled by Suns of the Tide. Dicing and slicing was on going for over a year! The first album was launched in April 2010!

In the summer of 2010, right after the release, the Suns of the Tide decided to do another improv session, quite like the first one but with some twists. DJ Lion-O was still providing the beats and synth sounds but with an expended set of electronic tools. Fletcher wanted to play some acoustic guitar... with all the difficulties that this would create to record his voice at the same time. And Cedric... well on the first session he forgot his bass at another project he had, so he played more Stick and... brought out the upright bass! The sessions were thrilling and very experimental but they haven't been touched since that summer of 2010! The editing will take place eventually, when the moment is right, and the result will be a new departure for this group of three.
