We will stay quiet for that time to spring on you coming the 1st of the year 2012! :-) The two recent concerts, Jass & Bazz in France and Eric's Continuum in Houston, went very very well and are the start of many good things to come! Thanks to everyone helping making those things happen and we are continuing the wild ride! November 7th 2011 Finally got confirmation for the Saturday November 19th show for Eric's Continuum. We will be playing at 9pm at BFE. Here's the poster (3rd on the list). Come and check us out and stay around for the other bands!  October 26th 2011 Sorry, very last minute change in dates, Eric will play Richmond Chill Bar next Wednesday the 2nd of November rather than tonight. Apologize for the last minute change! October 23rd 2011 Quick update: the Mad Ducks' artists are on the road! You can see the various shows at the bottom, below the news. We will update this as soon as we have more shows... which should happen soon! On another note, we are making great leaps on DJ Lion-O's new album. You can hear a rough track on the DJ's page. Just click here! We will most likely have a bunch of vocal and instrumental guests on this release! A new departure for our own DJ! And if you are wondering what that weird square is right below, that's a QR code. Scan it with your phone and you will have all of our contacts! Easy huh? September 29th 2011 So we have a few short shows already in place with Eric. Those are just to start slowly and oil the machine. We will have two open mics at Avant Garden (411 Westheimer, Houston) on October 4th starting at 10pm and at Richmond Chill Bar and Grill (4704 Richmond, Houston) on October 26th at 9pm. We also have a show booked at BFE (11528 Jones Rd, Houston) on November 19th (time not confirmed yet). We will update you on more shows and times, etc. September 24th 2011 Wow a month as gone by since we last posted news! Ok anyone has a stop time machine? We're not talking time travel here... just something to freeze time! Anyone? Oh well... In that month we didn't stay idle (not like this page!). We're working on several fronts so here goes. We are still rehearsing with Eric and what we've dubbed the Continuum band to present Eric's music to the World. We are very close to small duet shows and then more involved quartet shows. The album has been doing well! The album is available in a lot of places: through our online store for anywhere in the World, online through iTunes, Amazon, etc., and in France/Europe it's available through CD1D both as physical copies and downloads. We are hard at work on producing DJ Lion-O's fourth album, a bold 2 CD set of electronic mayhem! Also planed by the end of the year are a couple of free EP releases by Jass & Bazz and looped guitar tracks by Cedric (one already on our free compilation, White Rooms & Padded Tunes). And the final remix of the Mad Ducks Records back catalog, 4Element's 2nd opus Duplicity! So check the site often or any of our Facebook and Google+ pages as we are updating those very regularly! August 19th 2011 A brand new page and fresh news, for a brand new and fresh website! (unfortunately we will have to say that the site is best seen on any browser BUT Internet Explorer! If you see transparent parts on your page on IE8 just hit refresh... IE8 is just not website friendly...) All this to celebrate the release of Continuum! It is coming out in a week! This is Eric Mbadinga-Nzamba's first release, carefully crafted over years of life experience and recording sessions. It talks about family, friends, humanity, lost cultures and all of us living on the same small planet. For your convenience it's available on many platforms. It is available as a CD and as a digital download in our shop of course but also on iTunes, Amazon, Fnac, Virgin Megastore and CD1D in France. The physical format is available from us and from CD1D. Please use your favorite platform to purchase the album and play it, play it, play it! You will see that we are now giving you easy access to all the social network sites we are on at the top of every page. Please follow us on your favorite social site as we put updates and tidbits on all of them! Hope to meet you on the roads! August 11th 2011 We're couting the days till Eric's first release! Can't wait to get the CD in the mail and ready for distribution! And with that will come the new website... you may have seen the intro page change already... more soon, promise! August 4th 2011 We just realized that we hadn't put any updates on the news page for almost 2 weeks! It's not that we have nothing to report or that the site is dead... we're very busy on a lot of new stuff coming in the next couple of weeks and through the end of the year. On the music front, we've made the final touches to Eric's album and it's going to press as we speak! The songs are up on the Continuum page and the official release date is August 29th! Very excited! We also started work on a new DJ Lion-O album which is going to be a giant step for our DJ! Look also for some potential free tracks from now till the end of the year and the remaster of Duplicity. On other fronts, we've started a Google+ page and a twitter account! And we're updating those regularly as well as Facebook! We're trying to make sure we don't spend too much time on that and focus on the music instead! We've also made a lot of updates to the site which you will see coming up in the next few weeks. Stay tuned! You can find in the shop the first three releases of DJ Lion-O's: Dirty Desires, Soy Montana and Altered. What do they have in common? Well DJ Lion-O for one! And second they are really good! :-) If you like electronic music, you will like those albums. The first one has very interesting lyrics. The second one is entirely instrumental and electronic. And the third one is much more ambient. December 5th 2010 Covington has a concert on Sunday December 19th at 8pm at Walter's on Washington. Here is a map. We hope to see you there with all you friends to celebrate Christmas with us!! November 16th 2010 Please note: Covington gig on Saturday November 20th in Houston: CANCELED!! Sorry for the last minute notice... November 12th 2010 First thing first: if you are in Houston go check Covington next Saturday November 20th at the Meridian (address and map)! Show starts at 9pm! Second, the studio has moved so if you've signed up for our newsletter, you will see the new place. Nothing fancy, but a good place to work! And there's a lot of work to be done!! Finally, we've added more 4Element videos from the vault and hope you enjoy them on the media page. October 23rd 2010 A quick note for anyone in Houston: Covington will be playing BFE (here for directions) on Saturday October 30th (yes that's next week!) Come and see us at 9pm. We will be filming so hope to have a lot of people and noise! The band will then play November 20th at The Meridian... more info on that at a later time! September 16th 2010 Mad Ducks Records is now on CD1D! This is an independent network of labels, musicians, production companies located in France and helping getting new music out. You can go to their site here and if you miss us so much you can see the Mad Ducks page here. If everything is in French, just click on the English flag and... voila! Please support them as well as the artists on the site. Without them, no new music can bloom and grow! A few of the great labels on there that we can name are Jarring Effects, DTC Records, IOT Records, Expressillon and so many more... Their tag line is "to download means to discover, to buy means to support". Again please support us! Because of our link with France we are looking at translating the site in French. This is a huge undertaking so please bare with us while this is done. In the meantime, if English is not your first language just listen to the music. A lot of it is instrumental anyway! August 12th 2010 We've been quiet... but very busy! There is a lot in the works. We've got almost 2/3rds of the albums remixed and mastered. You can get them nice and finalized in the shop. And you can still find the free downloadable MDR compilation and the 'Bafana Bafana!' song there too. Just to give you a taste for what is coming up, we are working on networking and distribution in France and Europe. More on that very soon! We've also recorded a new artist and are working on producing his second album! We hope that he will join the family and you will be able to get his first album and the upcoming one here on Mad Ducks Records! We are still working with Eric for his first release. Writing and recording is going on and you can find some of the first songs on his page. Finally, if you are in the Houston area, check the Covington page for future shows. There are a few pictures there already and a couple of demo songs. July 14th 2010 Just finalized our first compilation! It is now available for free download at the shop! It's a mixture of all of our artists and all of our albums. You will also find some new songs which we are planing for the near future. We've decided to update the site slowly and in pieces rather than even slower and in one big shot! We came to this conclusion because the coding of the site takes us away from creating more music for you! And trust us, there is a lot coming up! So go straight to the shop, download the compilation or the Bafana Bafana! song or any of our other releases! June 26th 2010 Incredible that a month has already passed since the last time we put something down here. We are hard at work on a compilation of MDR gems but we wanted to notify you of a new song that we just put on YouTube. It's for the World Cup going on right now and we hope that you help us make it a hit! It's been up for only 24 hours but we've received a lot of good feedback. May 24th 2010 A lot of news to come but this is just a quick notice of a gig in Houston for Covington. It's last minute: this Saturday May 29th at midnight at Fitzgerald's. Also new is the release finally of Suns of The Tide: 14 songs picked and cherished through many months of editing and mixing some improv sessions. Also going on is some serious recording and new gigs with Covington (site and more information on this soon!) February 8th 2010 Have a gig on the 27th at the Mink with Covington around 7ish. June 27th 2009 The album I is finally out! It's been long to get it done and finalized but here it is. We'll get samples and other stuff up soon! June 18th 2009 Already more info on Orents Stirner's gig in July. It will be at Mangos (see the flyer at the bottom right). See you there! June 13th 2009 2 Concerts with Orents Stirner, one on June 21st at 3pm at West Alabama Ice House for the Fete de la Musique event (see the flyer on the right) and one at Mangos on July 31st (more info later). May 6th 2009 We've added a few things to the site: new projects and future accomplishments. We are looking forward to the e-commerce part being ready and the site to be fully operational. Yes I know it's taking so much time!. MDR people (the Ducks!!) are very busy with promotion, gigging, web development, production, etc... and are own jobs to be able to eat, have shelter and spend all the rest in this! It's a busy year and we are focusing on... independence. Some things on this site will be geared much more towards promoting independent thinkers around the World (thus links on the right hand side on this main page) and have everyone join in promoting this independence rather than the major labels and companies controlling how people think and feel. But we can't complain about those companies. It's all up to us. Either we let them plug us into their matrix and we're the ones guilty or we create our World. And all the tools are there to create that World. We are looking for support. If you have a skill that you think will help us, please contact us. We'll see how we can use that skill. For the moment there's no remuneration sorry... April 5th 2009 Quick update: gig on April 24th at Rudyard's (Houston map). Playing with Orent Stirner... or Spirit Noise Academy (not sure of our name yet!!) at 9pm. See everyone there! March 6th 2009 We're creating another Myspace... space? For the moment it will have full lenght 4Element songs. Eventually we'll transform it... Lots of activity with Mad Ducks. Can't wait for the gigs! February 1st 2009 'Altered' is out! After a busy year for DJ Lion-O (almost 3 releases within the year 2008 alone!) he will go into temporary hibernation... at least that's what he told the team! We are looking forward to 2009 with a release by Suns Of The Tide and a solo release by Cedric planned. Obviously things can change and this is only the begining! December 8th 2008 For those of you who have found your way to this site, we apologize for the lack of updates. We have had difficulties with the shop and are still working on getting this working. Our hosting company is saying that "it's easy as 1-2-3"... well guess again! On the music side, 'Soy Montana' was delayed for release. The production team wasn't entirely happy with it but it is now finished! Plus we will have a second DJ Lion-O release: 'Altered'. A very ambient album. We will have those pages up soon. Finally please look at some very interesting link under the Ad Hoc bar on the right. The content is in French. October 19th 2008 New release from Mad Ducks Records! DJ Lion-O strikes again with a very different album. All instrumental and electronic. Check it out! August 31st 2008 Esbjorn Svensson died in June of 2008 of a diving accident. I only learned this today... 2.5 months later! Such a loss... Please see the Ad Hoc section for some links and music. Him and his band were a breath of fresh air in the "acoustic" jazz scene. August 19th 2008 The gig on Saturday, or should I say Sunday morning, was interesting. Good crowd; fun to do the sound but had to play 2 hours later than planed. Most people were waiving to the music which is a good sign... but maybe it was because of the amount of alcohol in their bodies. Will keep you posted on any new event. Keep an eye on this page. August 9th 2008 Almost 2 months already! Don't assume nothing has happened; just didn't have much time to provide some news. All the pages on the site are pretty much done. The e-store is being built and should be available soon. As you can see we have a gig happening August 16th. One of DJ Lion-O and Cedric's new project will be playing an improv show. The plan is to maybe record the gig and at least get some video shots for future editing. An album is in the works for that project, maybe for end of 2008 but most probably beginning of 2009. DJ Lion-O's 2nd opus is also well on it's way to be complete. Keep an eye on the Duck!!! June 11th 2008 Start of a new website with full capacity. Please give us your feedback. After many hours taning in front of the computer I can definitely say that it's done. November 19th 2007 I can now confirm that Mad Ducks Records is like the Phoenix: it has resurrected from its ashes! November 2nd 2007 Mad Ducks Records will probably be released from the asylum and may well start its insane madness again. We'll keep you posted! |
