Cedric Theys BIOGRAPHIE

Cedric started his musical journey in a guitar store... quickly went to pre-4Element and played covers (Metallica, Aerosmith) and again quickly changed the modus operandi to writing original songs with his brother Alban on drums and Phil on guitar. Cedric switched to bass from guitar, believing that the bass had more untapped sounds than the guitar (still believes that today!) The 4Element saga (read it here) was an amazing learning school and an experimental powerhouse that is still an influence to this day.
After finalizing the 2nd 4Element CD in 2005, Cedric started playing around with a lot of electronics. He also played some improv gigs with some ethnic groups. He seems to really remember the Turkish flute... and there was the sitar and the tablas! People dancing and having a blast! He played in several other bands trying to find the right fit. Then DJ Lion-O asked him to do a small 3 song EP with Soarce's singer Jeff. That project ballooned into a full-blown album within a month! And took a year and a half to complete and was released in April 2008! It is called Dirty Desires and has no less than 15 songs, a far greater number than the 7 or 8 songs in the typical 4Element album!
Cedric was working at the same time on Re-De-Generation with his brother Alban. This album was completed in 2007 after a couple of years sending the files over the web under the Atlantic. This is a mix of electronic and live instruments.
Cedric was hard at work producing DJ Lion-O's first completely solo album Soy Montana and went right into producing DJ Lion-O's sophomore album Altered. He is working on dicing and mixing the Suns Of The Tide album as well as working on Mr. Mbadinga's deep and gorgeous album.
In between those projects, Cedric finally finished several songs, pieces, melodies that have been created but put on the side for the past 8 years or so. Those experimentations now have a home on the album I ! The Suns Of The Tide album was also finally released in early 2010.
